The Averaging Bar is a differential producer designed for easy pipe/duct insertion for liquid, gas and vapor (steam) flow measurement. It is a diamond-shaped strut that spans the pipe/duct. A number of upstream & downstream facing pressure ports are used to interpolate the velocity profile for averaging purposes.The diamond shape establishes a fixed separation point of the fluid from the sensor. This reduces changes in the low or reference pressure that would cause a corresponding loss of accuracy in flow measurement.The advantages of Averaging Bar are low cost, low permanent pressure loss and capability of inserting into existing or operating pipes.
